C3) New Part numbers from 2014

From 2014 the Autoline part number system, at least for the transmission range, will probably change.

Nowadays our part numbers have a minimum of 18 digits including blanks. Some customers have complained that our part numbers are becoming too long and would not fit into their database.

Therefore we will keep the numbers shorter but still informative or even more informative. We will try to keep the digits to a maximum of 18 alphanumeric digits with no blanks.

Examples

A 03 27 DS072 1111 WP would become A-OHK-01M-WP

A = Autoline quality

OHK = description of the item – here: Overhaul Kit

01M = major transmission type

WP = suffix – in this case “with piston(s)”

It will not be easy to have really clear numbers for each and every item, but we will try. For specific items we might still have to use figures which have no relation to the product.

Example specific kits to fit for specific Mercedes transmissions

Comparable original part no: 126 270 61 00 or 126 270 53 00 – both of them are for specific serial numbers of 722.3 transmissions.

Old number

126 270 61 00 compares to A 01 27 DS072 0610

126 270 53 00 compares to A 01 27 DS072 0530

New number would be

126 270 61 00 compares to A-OHK-7223-61

126 270 53 00 compares to A-OHK-7223-53

Our universal kit for 722.3 would be A-OHK-7223 instead of A 01 27 DS072 0723

If a similar new part-number-system can be introduced for our other major product lines will be investigated and decided later.

For all general – non transmission - spare parts we will keep our present numbering system.
